Rachelle Iopa, PT, DPT

Born and raised in Hilo, Rachelle now calls Honolulu home as the Owner and President of Kaimuki Care. She received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, before earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) from the University of Southern California. Rachelle’s early career was spent with several clinics in the Los Angeles area before returning home to Hawaii in 2002. Having spent three years with HealthSouth she decided to open her own clinic, Kaimuki Care, in 2005.

In recognition of her accomplishments, she was named as one of the “Forty Under 40” awardees from Pacific Business News in 2006. Rachelle specializes in shoulder and neck injuries, has experience in vestibular rehabilitation, and is skilled at treating patients with complicated disorders. In her spare time, she enjoys standup paddling and travelling. Rachelle and her husband, Rob, live in Manoa, and have two young boys, Ian and Eli.


 

Kristina Lacno, LMT

Kristina is one of the licensed massage therapists working at Kaimuki Care, and has been with the clinic since September 2007.  Born and raised on O’ahu, Kristina is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools.  She received her training in massage therapy from the Pacific Institute of Massage and also received a certification in lomi lomi massage from Aunty Margaret Machado’s massage school. She uses a combination of different techniques, including deep tissue, lomi lomi, and sports massage.

Kristina enjoys seeing her clients feel better, both mentally and physically, and is gratified when she can help someone improve their mobility and lifestyle.  Kristina enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her family. 


 

Wendy Newman, LMT

Wendy, a licensed massage therapist, has been with Kaimuki Care since its inception in 2005.  She was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where she originally worked in the banking industry.  Following her passion to work in the health and wellness industry, she got certified as an AFAA Certified Fitness Instructor in 2000, and worked in health clubs and gyms before moving to Honolulu in 2001.  She then received her massage therapy license at Hawaii College of Health and Science, with a specialty in medical massage.  Wendy also received additional training in Thailand for Thai massage.   When not seeing clients at Kaimuki Care, she teaches kickboxing and Zumba.

Wendy is fluent in Spanish, and her interests include hiking, surfing, and travelling.  She and her husband, Michael, live in Waikiki.


 

Emelie Soriano, Office Manager

A graduate of Farrington High School, Emelie has been with Kaimuki Care from its start in 2005. She has an associate’s degree in medical assisting from Honolulu Community College.

Emelie enjoys working at Kaimuki Care because of the wonderful patients, the friendly staff, and she likes being in charge of the front office. Emelie is fluent in Tagolog and Ilocano, and her interests include singing, jet-skiing, fishing, and travelling to Las Vegas. She and her husband, Glenn, live in Honolulu, and have four daughters and three dogs.
